I have been taking interview lately for a wordpress project in my company, the requirement is simple the new joinee is required to convert designs from figma or zeplin to HTML and then into WordPress site integration.
The problem in all the interview I have seen that candidates think or lie about there experience, nevertheless most of them are failing to do simple tasks on codepen using plain HTML and CSS because they have never practise or converted real designs using core css. Most of the candidate are habitual to Twitter bootstrap classes but cannot code simple css themselves which is a complete killer of there energy and time they took in learning bootstrap css.
so as a beginner always learn and practice using core css first, atleast for your initial years, and there are many design available online which you can use to practice and prepare for interviews.
As a senior developer, it’s really disappointing to see so many people trying to reach the top without even practising basics. I hope newbie in the industry do not fall for these traps and learn and grow very fast
